Are we naturally inclined to seek the envy of others? Are online platforms designed to put us in competition against one another? Which came first: the chicken or the egg?
Elena, I don't envy others or desire to be envied, so to me at least there's nothing 'natural' about it. To your point, I like to think of myself as an empathetic person, as perhaps evidenced by regular active contributions to the voluntary sector, but whether or not these things are linked I really don't know or get an immediate sense of the relationship between the two. Will have to mull that over.
